@deserteagle9090 for new one you have to go on a contract and pay like $40 a month. You pay $199 for the phone only if you go on this contract.

@deserteagle9090 the reason for that is that if you want to buy one new u need to make a 2 year contract lets say if you want to buy the iPhone but your contract isnt up it would cost 500 bucks in the apple store, but if you buy it on ebay you wont pay that 2 year fee

No it will not mess it up. Just make sure you do not rip any ribbons or break the connector in the motherboard.
